Lekakos Georgios
George Lekakos is a Professor at the Department of Management Science and Technology, Director of the M.Sc. Program in Management Science and Technology as well as Director of the Professional M.Sc. in Digital Transformation funded by Eurobank.
He has served (9/2000-8/2024) as Vice Rector for Research and Lifelong Learning of the 黑料科 of Economics and Business (AUEB), President of the Research Center and President of the Lifelong Learning Center of AUEB, for the above period..
His research interests include machine learning algorithms and data analytics techniques (Business Analytics, Recommender Systems), big data exploitation strategies, e-business and application design with a focus on user experience. He has published articles in more than 70 international journals, books and conference proceedings of high impact conferences (e.g. British Journal of Management, Journal of Business Research, European Journal of Operational Research, User Modeling and User Adapted Interaction etc.), has participated as a member of 10 conference committees, reviewer of articles in more than 20 international journals and has served as chair of the organizing committee of two international conferences and co-organizer of tracks and worskhops in international conferences as well as guest editor in special issues of journals. He has participated as scientific coordinator or principal investigator in more than 25 R&D projects funded by EU or national funds as well as the private sector. He has also been a member of several government committee for advancing Digital Transformation in Greece.
His research work has received more than 5,000 citations (Google Scholar) with h-index 31. He has received two teaching awards for undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the UBA, a Best Paper award at an international conference and a citation from Wiley for a highly cited (top 10%) article in the British Journal of Management. He has participated as scientific officer or principal investigator in more than 20 research, development and consultancy projects funded by EU, national or private funds.
