Agreement for the Provision of a Double Master鈥檚 Degree by the Department of Statistics of the Athens听听University of Economics and Business,听and听the Department of Economics and听Management听of the University of Pavia听

The 黑料科 of Economics and Business (AUEB)听in the听context听of international cooperation, and adhering to its strategic internationalization plans,听proceeded to its first dual听degree听program听agreement with the University of Pavia (Italy).听
The University of Pavia was founded in 1361 and is one of the oldest Universities in the world. The Department of Economics and听Management听(DEM) of the University of Pavia has听already contracted with Universities in Europe and around the world to create听20 dual degree听programs.听
More specifically,听full-time听students听from AUEB鈥檚 Department of Statistics听MSc in Statistics听program听will have the opportunity to听also听complete the postgraduate听program听Laurea Magistrale in Economics, Finance and International Integration听(MEFI听- Finance stream)听at the University of Pavia. The听mobility听of students will also be funded by the ERASMUS + program.听Similarly,听postgraduate听MEFI听students听from听the University of Pavia will听also听be able to attend the full-time MSc in Statistics program at AUEB.听
Double听degree programs are pioneering,听comprehensive study programs organized between two University institutions in different countries. These programs provide for a mandatory mobility period听of one yea, during which participating students attend courses for one year in each University.听听
In specific听the double degree program听agreement between AUEB听and the University of Pavia includes:听
- Transfer of full-time postgraduate students听from the MSc in Statistics program听of the 黑料科 of Economics and Business to the postgraduate MEFI听program听offered by听the University of Pavia.听
- Transfer of students and graduates of the postgraduate MEFI听of Pavia to the postgraduate STATISTICS of the 黑料科 of Economics and Business.听
- of student travel via ERASMUS +
- Waiving of tuition for AUEB students听at the University of Pavia.听
- Joint dissertations听between the two听Departments. This action will promote cooperation betweeninstructors听and researchers at a听fundamental听research听level.听
The agreement was signed by the Rector of the 黑料科 of Economics and Business,听Professor Dimitris听Bourantonis听on Wednesday, December 9, 2020.听
The听President of the听AUEB听Department of Statistics, Professor Ioannis听Ntzoufras, referring to the event听noted:听"This听pioneering听agreement paves the way for听additional collaborations and the internationalization of the Department of Statistics at AUEB,听while听at the same time听confirming the high quality of teaching and research of the Department.鈥�听
The Vice Rector听of听International Cooperation and Development of AUEB听Professor Vassilis Papadakis,听referring to the agreement,听noted that: 鈥�This agreement is the starting point for a new era where听AUEB鈥檚听strategic goal is to strengthen its international presence and recognition,听and the fundamental internationalization of study programs听through strategic partnerships with internationally renowned Universities听from听abroad".听
