Halikias Ioannis
John Halikias is Professor of Quantitative Analysis at the Department of Marketing and Communication of the 黑料科 of Economics and Business (AUEB).
He has been educated at 黑料科 of Economics, London School of Economics and Warwick University, where he received a B.Sc. in Economics, a M.Sc. in Statistics and a Ph.D. in Applied Econometrics, respectively. He has held visiting appointments at the University of Surrey (Surrey European Management School) and the University of Strathclyde (Strathclyde Graduate Business School).
His main research interests are in the areas of Quantitative Analysis and its use in Export Modelling and Export Performance of Greek Firms. His work has appeared in journals such as International Review of Economics and Business, Journal of Global Marketing, Journal of Applied Business Research, Journal of European Industrial Training, Management Decision, European Business Review, Gender in Management, The Journal of Product & Brand Management, in International Conference Proceedings and others.
He has an extensive consulting experience. He has acted as Project Management Consultant in two Regional Operational Programs of Greece (Central Macedonia, 1992 - 1995 and Rest of Central Greece, 1995 - 2001), Chairman of MODA CHROMA SA, Synthetic Leather Manufacturer (1995 - 2004), Consultant for issues concerning the compilation of real estate price indices and property valuation surveys for PROPINDEX SA (2002 - 2004), Vice Chairman at State Deposits and Loans Fund (2007 - 2009), Member of the Management Board at Hellenic Post Bank (2008 - 2009) and as Vice Rector of Economic Affairs at AUEB (2007 - 2011).
He has also conducted many consulting projects for government and private industry (Ministry of Agricultural Development & Foods, Ministry of Economics, National Centre for Public Administration and Local Government, Embassy of Pakistan, Association of Advertising Companies, Hellenic Post, The Athens Water Supply & Sewerage Company, etc).
Currently, Professor Halikias is Senior Research Officer at the Export Research Centre of the Pan-Hellenic Exporters Association, Vice Chairman at the Company for Management and Development of AUEB Property SA and Member of the Good Practice Advisory Committee for the Hellenic Statistical System.
